Two tea tips for healthier skin

tea herbalI have two favourite teas I make at home which I know are going to be good for my skin, as they are ideal for hydrating and for giving my skin a healthy glow from the inside out.

My ‘hydrator’ blend is made up of dried orange peel (which I’ve dried in the oven instead of throwing away the peel), lemon verbena (dried from my own plant) and raspberry leaf (I have to buy this!). It’s high in antioxidants, which help keeps me healthy, as well as strengthening my skin’s cells by scavenging those age-advancing free radicals.

Put in a tablespoon of each into a ceramic or glass teapot and fill with boiling water. Leave for 5-10 minutes and drink. This can also be chilled.

I also love putting together the following for a great detox or skin purifier: you’ll see your skin glowing. For this blend I use lemon balm, red clover, nettle and hibiscus flowers. I have my own dried lemon balm and hibiscus flowers, but I purchase the dried red clover and nettle. I blend all the ingredients and keep them in an airtight jar.

Put one heaped teaspoon in a ceramic or glass teapot and fill with boiling water. Leave for 5-10 minutes and drink.
